This is one of the best quotes I’ve heard during our trip so far. It came from Rafael, who was sleeping under a shade structure on a Zipolite beach in Southern Oaxaca for 50 pesos per night (we were paying 55 pesos per night to park there).
Rafael is a older man who is originally from Germany. He was having a lot of back pain that we tried to ease with my foam roller. But watching the sunrise and sunset from my beach chair on a beautiful relatively undiscovered beach in southern Oaxaca, I knew exactly what Rafael was saying. And it reminded me of a quote from Tim Ferris:
“People don’t want to be millionares, they want to experience what they believe only millions can buy.”
To us, living like a millionare means pursuing some of the best adventures on the planet. And sometimes, it means taking advantage of the currency of time and spending a few days in an amazing beach town like Zipolite doing very little at all except for relaxing and recharging.
Check out our upcoming Oaxaca trip report for more info on Zipolite, an idyllic nudist beach on the Southern Coast of Oaxaca!
